In a bid to improve tourism in its very area, the city of Manila launched a program that would see the rehabilitation of its popular parks and tourist spots. The capital city is one of the most visited place in the country, with almost 3 million tourists annually. But unlike other countries wherein their biggest airports are located in their capitals, Manila doesn't have one and relies on the airport located in the nearby city of Pasay. Having said this, it has to continuously and aggressively campaign for its tourism programs. And one that the city sees can attract more visitors is by rehabilitating the spots where tourists usually go. Included in the program is of course the biggest recreational park in the country, the Rizal Park, locally known as Luneta. Another is the walled city of Intramuros, the stretch of Chinese shops in Binondo and more modern establishments like the Manila Ocean Park. Manila also wants to increase awareness on facts that are not known to everyone, that they hope could spark some interest. One of which is the Kilometer Zero marker located in front of the flagpole, a few steps from the Rizal Monument. It serves as a distance marker everywhere in the country. It also helps to know that the country's Department of Tourism is also located in Manila. While most other government agencies are located in Quezon City, the DoT was strategically placed in the historic city of Manila, in the middle of the Luneta Park. You can talk about...
